Every time it rained, this basement window leaked. A house's foundation can shift, causing cracks around basement windows. Water seeping into the cracks causes the wood frame around the window to rot and the caulking to loosen. A new egress window was installed in the basement as a preventative measure to ensure this basement window never leaks again. All open cracks from outside are sealed to prevent water from leaking in.
