After heavy storms and even the "Spring Melt" it's not uncommon to see heavy saturation of the ground in Pennsylvania. However, this home in Gilbertsville had a continuous water problem which was causing major foundation issues. The continuous water saturating the cinder block foundation, caused cracks, separation, and shifting from the home.
This home required exterior drainage maintenance, and foundation repair utilizing our Push Pier System. We started by excavating several hundred feet of exterior trench to help mitigate the standing water around the property and allowing water to move away from the home. We were then able to begin digging access wells to place the Push Pier System.
After the Push Pier System was installed to achieve lift to the home and repair the cracking, shifting, and separation of the foundation; the crew was able to begin back filling the wells and preparing to install an exterior French drainage system with the existing trench that had been dug. A layer of 2B stone was placed at the bottom of the trench, and then a high volume discharge line was placed inside the trench and leveled throughout the property.
To finalize the job, our crew went above and beyond and made sure everything was properly back filled, leveled and tamped until new grass will begin to grow in the areas that were disturbed. The homeowner was thrilled that this area will no longer be a saturated swamp, his foundation is now safe and they can move forward with their plans of creating the perfect yard Oasis.
