Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Crawlspace Encapsulation with Foundation stabilization, Lackawaxen

Homeowner was looking to fight off moisture problems as well as turn the stone floor crawlspace into usable space. Many products were considered to give the best use of space for the homeowner. To start the process of fighting off moisture FoamMax insulation was applied to walls along with utilizing XL Vent covers to help keep the outside elements outside. Second, Drainage matting was laid out over the stone flooring. Another layer of TerraBlock insulation was placed over the Drainage Matting. Lastly, these two layers were covered and sealed using CleanSpace. Concrete footers were also wrapped in CleanSpace to finish off the look. Sanidry Sedona and Sanidry Xp were installed into corresponding areas of the crawlspace. Foundation stabilization was also part of the homeowners list to accomplish so they could continue to use their home for years to come. Stabilization was done by using PowerBraces in a corner of the home.

Drainage Matting

Drainage Matting is used as a base layer over your stone or dirt flooring to protect the encapsulation of your Crawlspace.

TerraBlock

TerraBlock insulation is placed over Drainage Matting. This adds the much needed layer of insulation to give you that energy efficiency that everyone is looking for with their usable space.

TripleSafe with BBU with SaniDry XP

Crawlspace has been fully encapsulated using Drainage Matting, TerraBlock and CleanSpace both on the footer and piers. To prevent moisture a SaniDry Xp has been installed to drain into the TripleSafe Sump Pump. The discharge lines for the sump pump run along the joists to an exterior point in foundation that has been outfitted with IceGuards.

Interior discharge

Interior discharge lines are run from the TripleSafe Sump Pump through foundation to exterior discharge lines. You will also see the uncovered vent allowing the outside elements into the crawlspace.

You will see the process of connecting the Sump Pump discharge line to an exterior line with a LawnScape outlet on the end to direct water and evenly distribute over the ground.

IceGuard tying into discharge

IceGuards are placed onto exterior discharge lines. You will also notice a crawlspace vent that has yet to be covered to keep the elements out.

IceGuards are installed on the exterior discharge lines to prevent back up of frozen lines in the winter. CleanSpace Ventcovers are also placed on all vents around crawlspace to help with moisture.

Insulation

To help with energy efficiency rim joist insulation is placed.
