Liberty Basement Systems Donates Handmade Blankets for Kelsey's Dream
Selinsgrove, PA - June 24, 2024
Kelsey Kuhns of Mifflinburg continues to make an Impact in the lives of other's nearly a decade after Leukemia claimed her young life.
In a letter written, at the young age of 11, Kelsey made a profound statement. She wrote,
"..a word of encouragement to anyone who might be going through something similar, stay STRONG. Don't give up! Stay Positive! And my motto is FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION!! Keep Fighting!"
In Kelsey's short life, she lived a life of empathy, and concern, and service of others. In the years to come, Kelsey's younger sister and Mother wanted to continue to honor Kelsey and the life that she lived. They started "Kelsey's Dream" that provides a number of services for children in need.
Every year, Kelsey's Dream provides handmade blankets to Camp Dost, which is a camp for children with cancer and their siblings. Every camper gets a handmade blanket on their bed, as well as other special gifts. This year, Kelsey's Dream found themselves in need of blankets. Liberty Basement Systems was able to hand make nearly 30 of them, and donate some extra blanket kits.
In total, 15 employees were involved with the process from planning to executing and nearly 20 volunteer hours were donated from the planning process, the event, the making of the blankets and the donation. It was our absolute privilege and honor to work with this organization and we plan to work with them again next year and create a bigger event to bring more awareness to Kelsey's Dream.
