Photo Album: Musty Odors, High Humidity, and Pesky Critters Crawl Space Problem Solved in Dalton, PA

There were a few repairs that needed to be made to this family home. The homeowner was most concerned about their damp crawl space. A strong musty odor was leaking into the upper level of the house. The rim joists had noticeable cracks, and the space was very humid and damp. Mold grew on the crawl space walls as a result of the high levels of moisture. SilverGlo wall insulation panels were fastened to the walls to stop air leaks, and maintain the spaces' temperature. A trench was dug to install the WaterGuard interior drainage system. WaterGuard will capture water at the perimeter of the crawl space before it can reach other areas. The crawl space floor was covered with Drainage Matting to create drainage space and thermal breaks between the ground and the CleanSpace Vapor Barrier that is secured over top. CleanSpace Vapor Barrier will stop any moisture from permeating the floor and walls of the space. To ensure dry and healthy air, a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was installed. In order to avoid having to install another sump system, which the homeowner already had, a drop-down duct system was installed.   After the project was complete, the customer was very satisfied with the outcome of their crawl space.
