Photo Album: Permanent Solution to a Wet Basement in Clarks Summit, PA

When looking for a permanent solution to their constant wet basement problem, Michelle & Barry S. of Clarks Summit, PA decided to reach out for Liberty Basement Systems for the help. Every time it rained; their basement was taking on a lot of water which would soon lead to traces of mold growth. A sump pump system was connected in the basement; however, it was faulty. Personal items stored in the space were becoming damp and moldy due to high humidity levels along with the basement carpet and even the walls!    Once Liberty Basement Systems basement waterproofing inspector, Tyler H. inspected the homeowner’s basement, he was able to diagnose the water problem they were having. To solve their basement problems for good it was decided that a wall vapor barrier system, a perimeter drainage system, a sump pump system, basement wall insulation, a basement dehumidification system, and a high-quality mold cleaner would be the permanent solution for the job!    Tyler discussed our installation process with the homeowners, and they were very eager to finally have a dry basement! The high humidity and water intrusion not only caused water damage, but mold growth along the basement walls and carpeting as well. Keeping those items in the basement would not be safe for the homeowner’s health, or the integrity of their homes structure. Our crew agreed to safely remove and dispose of those items.    After removing and prepping the area, a trench was jackhammered around the perimeter of the basement floor to install an interior drainage system. WaterGuard is a non-clogging, less expensive, and most effective drainage system when waterproofing your basement. A mold cleaner was sprayed on the foundation walls to clean left-over mold growth residue that seeped through the basement walls. A wall vapor barrier system was then installed on the basement walls. CleanSpace Wall Vapor Barrier System is a thick and tear resistant vapor barrier that stops water from entering through your basement walls. Instead, water will drain down the backside of the vapor barrier and into the WaterGuard Drainage System. CleanSpace has a built-in anti-microbial additive that does not allow for mold growth or mildew! A sump pump hole was made to install the TripleSafe Sump Pump System. Water that is collected in the drainage system and the SaniDry XP basement dehumidifier will flow to the sump pump and out of the home through an exterior discharge line.    A small crawl space like area in the basement was encapsulated with wall insulation, and a vapor barrier. SilverGlo wall insulation comes with a shiny integral radiant barrier that reflects heat for enhanced energy efficiency. SilverGlo is ideal for insulating basement and crawl space walls because of its excellent thermal properties, exceptional durability, and can never be damaged from humidity!      Liberty Basement Systems production crew will then seal and level over the drainage trench and sump hole with concrete to finish the job!
