Exterior Discharge Woes in Elysburg, PA
Challenge
Jill from Elysburg found that her home was still taking on water despite having an existing sump pump. After a free, thorough inspection & estimate it was found that this property had inadequate exterior drainage and a sump pump that was too small to handle the water table for the space. Chris, our Certified Design Specialist, designed a system to create a permanent solution for the home.
Solution
A full perimeter Waterguard system was installed by creating a trench on top of the footer of the foundation. The Waterguard system was then directed to a higher powered sump pump, the TripleSafe, which will expel nearly 3,000 gallons of water per hour. The exterior soils of the property were eroding away from the foundation due to where the existing sump pump was being discharged, allowing for more water to enter the property. The solution, was to install a buried discharge line that would connect to the sump pump and carry the water away from the property. This line was capped with our Lawnscape cap, to prevent clogging, debris, and rodents from entering the line.
